Tell us a secret - why Nobile?

Nobile boards speak for themselves. They are great quality boards with the latest innovative technology, especially the making of their split boards for traveling without compromise to your riding. The boards go upwind well, cut through chop and has great pop for tricks.  Their kites are great too, both the T5 for freeride/wave and the 50/Fifty C hybrid kite for unhooking.  The Nobile family is awesome and I am honoured to be part of the team.

Q: Where do you live?

I currently live in Southern California next to kite beach in Belmont Shore, one of our local kite spots. It is a great place for beginners and also where the kite community of advanced riders practice their tricks. Close by are other intermediate and advanced riding (waves) local spots: Seal Beach, Sunset Beach, and Huntington Beach.

Q: What drew you in to kiteboarding?

The first time I saw people kiteboarding was when I was in Maui, Hawaii surfing. Each year when I went back to Maui I was consistently amazed at how the sport progressed, and since I love being in the ocean, I decided to give it a go. It was one of the best decisions in my life!

Q: How were you first introduced to Nobile?

I was introduced to Nobile when I was talking with Rebecca of Boardsports California, a San Francisco based shop/school that also distributes Nobile in the US. I was looking for a board that would fit my needs: cuts through chop well, goes upwind, great for jumping and freestyle. After several hours on the water I wanted a board that was not hard on my knees. She recommended the Nobile’s 2015 Women’s NHP, and from the first time I rode it, I fell in love with the board! It’s awesome! Since I travel quite a bit and didn’t want to deal with airline fees and/or golf bag delays, I got the Nobile 2016 NHP split board, and it does not disappoint! It goes upwind well, cuts through chop, and has great pop for tricks. The performance is awesome - you wouldn’t even know it is a split board!

Q: Why do you like kite boarding and what other sports do you like to do?

I love kiteboarding for many reasons. It allows me to challenge myself, get out of my comfort zone, and take risks. The payoff/reward feels amazing when I land a new trick and I keep progressing! Kiteboarding isn’t just a sport, it’s a lifestyle where I can meet cool people, travel all over the world, and have fun with my new community of friends!

I used to play soccer, but nowadays I like to snowboard, SUP, and I would like to get back into surfing.

Q: Why you are stoked to be part of the team?

I am stoked to be part of the Nobile team as I have had great experience thus far and really believe in the Nobile brand, and I particularly love my NHP boards!

Q: How people can reach you?

Since I live next to kite beach in Belmont, you can find me there or one of the other local spots nearby. Our local kiting season runs March through September. Come find me to demo Nobile gear, both boards and kites! During the “off season”, I typically travel to kite destinations on my bucket list. If the wind is up at my home spot, I will be out on the water. Feel free to follow me and my adventures on instagram (@mzjenymar) or connect on Facebook (Jen Mar). Happy kiting and see you out on the water!
